Which way round

Anticlockwise: Easy first 1.2 km, climbs 14% for 330 m early on, comes down 26% for 300 m near the end.

Clockwise: Easy first 3.4 km, climbs 26% for 300 m early on, comes down 14% for 330 m near the end.

Better clockwise: you climb the steeper side (1.1 km at 10%+, 0.3 km of it 15%+) and come down 0.6 km of steep ground. Steep descents are where people slip, and they're harder on knees late in a walk.

Main climb: km 8.8–11.5, from 524 m to 722 m.
