The restoration of the Lime Avenue ponds in 2017 created a beautiful spot for visitors and a home for a variety of wildlife. This walk takes in the ponds, the tree-lined avenue, woodland and moorland, and across many areas of the estate.

Which way round
Clockwise: No steep climbing, comes down 13% for 350 m early on.
Anticlockwise: Climbs 13% for 350 m midway, no steep descents.
Better anticlockwise: you climb the steeper side (0.4 km at 10%+) and come down no steep ground. Steep descents are where people slip, and they're harder on knees late in a walk.
Main climb: km 1.5–3.1, from 231 m to 277 m.
