Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters
250 XP
Beachy Head is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, 162m above the water, with the Beachy Head lighthouse standing in the sea below it, built to replace Belle Tout on the next headland west, which was decommissioned in 1902 because mist hid its light. West of it the cliffs dip to Birling Gap, then rise and fall over the seven crests of the Seven Sisters to Cuckmere Haven, an undeveloped stretch often used in films as a stand-in for the White Cliffs of Dover.
