Beverley: The Minster and the Percy Tomb
275 XP
Beverley Minster was rebuilt between about 1190 and 1420, is larger than a third of England's cathedrals and is regarded as a Gothic masterpiece; the Percy Tomb inside, of around 1340, has a canopy regarded as one of the best surviving examples of Gothic carving, and the nave is lined with carvings of musicians from the second quarter of the 14th century. St Mary's at the other end of the town has a carved rabbit said to have given Lewis Carroll his White Rabbit.
